The iX founders were both incredibly grateful for their Yale undergraduate experience, but felt there was something fundamentally lacking from their four years on campus. They were high on theoretical knowledge, but low on skills. The material they had learned was already out of date by the time they graduated. They dreamed of creating a company that prepared students for the future, inspired them to challenge themselves and push them ou t of their comfort zones where limitless learning takes place.
iXperience started in 2013 as a study abroad coding bootcamp that would bridge the gap between academia and industry. Since then, it's grown into a global operation that has helped more than 4000 students accelerate their careers while exploring the world. Throughout, our focus has stayed on creating authentic connections within our community. We go to great lengths to get to know our students, teachers, and partner companies, which we believe has been instrumental to our success.
The first iX students arrive in Cape Town! They love the opportunity to gain new skills, work at an international company, and explore a beautiful city.
The close connections students form with each other and their teachers—in addition to the quality of our education—is a massive driver of iX's initial growth.
As iX reaches students from more and more universities, we expand our course offerings to span software, data, design, business, virtual reality, and more.
iX goes global and launches campuses in Lisbon and Berlin. Since, we've also launched programs in many other top global destinations.
iX goes online! We launch the world's first summer remote and hybrid course-internship blended programs.
iX raises capital from two top South African investment firms to create future-focused educational programs and services for a wide age range.
